Altra Running: The Learn to Run Initiative

Posted on May 23, 2011June 8, 2016 by admin

Give credit where credit is due. Newcomer to the running shoe sector, Altra Running, coined the term “zero drop,” which describes the ideal barefoot-running style shoe. There is no height difference between heel and toebox area. Your foot can function like nature intended, and that means landing properly on the midfoot or forefoot, and making the injury-causing heel crash pad so prevalent in most popular running shoes finally obsolete.

The Altra folks, however, just don’t want you to buy their shoes; they also want runners to practice good form. With that said, their Learn to Run Initiative offers these simple yet valuable tips on technique. Altra aims to implement running technique classes all over the country to coincide with the launch of their shoes to help runners learn to run easier, faster, and more injury free.
