Tarahumara Documentary: GOSHEN

Posted on April 3, 2015May 13, 2016 by NickP

The new feature documentary, GOSHEN, reveals how the Tarahumara tribe’s ancient diet and active lifestyle can not only transform your personal health and fitness, but may be the key to preserving Tarahumara culture as well. Watch here via Vimeo.  Own the DVD!

GOSHEN is a powerful documentary depicting the diet and active lifestyle of the indigenous Tarahumara, a light-footed running tribe, who are striving to maintain their ancient culture against all odds. The Tarahumara are renowned for their incredible long-distance running endurance and prevention of modern chronic diseases such as cancer and diabetes. For centuries, the Tarahumara have found a safe place of refuge in the remote depths of Mexico’s Copper Canyon. Recently, drought, famine and drug cartel violence have threatened the Tarahumara’s ability to sustain their ancient cultural traditions. GOSHEN takes you on a journey in the huarache-clad footsteps of these reclusive endurance athletes, highlighting the health benefits of safeguarding their way of life. Engaging and entertaining, GOSHEN will inspire you to take part in preserving the native culture and running traditions of the Tarahumara.

At @10:10…Dr. Miller says their diet “kind of turns the food pyramid on its head”, but then goes on to describe a diet that is exactly the food pyramid. Confused….
