You have probably listened to Car Talk on National Public Radio. Two brothers in Boston mix car mechanic chit-chat with often hilarious yet informative insights and fix-it advice about what goes on under the hood.
Well, The Natural Running Center will be hosting a podcast series called Shoe Guys. And who are these gents who will lend their wit and expertise on running shoes? Both work at Two Rivers Tread in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, and is the flagship store of the NRC.
On one side of the mike will be:
Tom Shantz
Tom is a proud Veteran having spent 6 ½ years in the U.S. Air Force and serving a tour in Vietnam. The next 32 years he worked for Roadway Express and retired as a Manager in 2007. In 1995 he discovered a love for running. Since then he has completed seven Ultra Events (50 miler +), several marathons and dozens of 5Ks and 10Ks. Once often injured, Tom discovered natural running in 2009 and has helped hundreds of runners start the path of rediscovery at Two Rivers Treads.
On the other side of the mike will be:
James Munis
A Florida native, James relocated to West Virginia in 2000 with his three children and wife Suzy, an accomplished fitness specialist and highly successful high school distance running coach. After a decade in the U.S.Navy, James is delighted to be helping runners everywhere discover the benefits of natural running. He has completed ultra-marathons and hundreds of ultra-cycling events. By applying good running form, James set PR bests at age 46 in the JFK 50 mile run in a time of 7:57 and a week later ran his fastest 5K ever in 18 minutes flat.
And the moderator for Shoe Guys is NRC Director Dr. Mark Cucuzzella, who is also the owner of Two Rivers Treads.
